Apprenticeships
Redfoot Enterprises CC started with apprenticeship training consultation in 2007 and have successfully taken more than 130 apprentices from unskilled students/laborers to the prestigious red seal trade test - currently supervising over 100 apprentices. We guide and facilitate the program to ensure the client complies with all statuary requirements in order to implement an apprenticeship program.
We perform the complete scope of guidance and facilitation with regards to:
- Site preparation and accreditation
- Policy and or program creation that integrates with existing policies and strategic direction
- Recruitment of apprentices
- Facilitation and consultation on negotiations between the client and the provider of practical training (training center)
- Appointment and induction of apprentices
- Registering of apprentices with the relevant SETA
- Monitoring and quality control of the apprentices throughout their phase training (workplace and training provider)
- Application and monitoring of trade test preparation and trade testing process
Engineers (graduate and GCC)
In order to qualify as a candidate engineer with the department of labour for writing of the sought after Government Certificate of Competency (GCC), candidates need to fulfill requirements both on practical and theoretical knowledge. Candidates can come from the NTC6, S4, B-Tech and B.Sc/B.Ing streams, and each stream have different criteria.
Redfoot provides a consultative service to the client on all of these streams and structure the best possible route for the candidate in obtaining his/her GCC.
Where candidates are embarking on the journey, applications to the DOL is facilitated and individual programs are constructed with the candidate and the client to ensure both theory and practical requirements are met.
Once again, the consultation process is handled by Redfoot personnel who themselves have obtained a GCC, and have been through the process to experience the frustrations, worries and the dreaded plant and law tests themselves
Technicians in training
As part of the National higher diploma qualification, students need to complete 12 months of practical training, and upon submission of such training evidence the tertiary institution will issue the qualification. This training however, has to happen in a structured and relevant forum, and this is where Redfoot provides its consultative services.
